Kennedy’s visit is supported with funding from the Myers School of Art - Graphic Design Area, Student Design League and Emily Davis Gallery.
The exhibition is the latest work of the letterpress printer. During the spring and summer of 2015, Kennedy printed a series that included more than 8,000 6” by 8” cards in multiple colors using a variety of maxims and epigrams. Students, alumni and faculty volunteers from The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron and Kent State ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû gathered in late summer to select and assemble the cards into 40 panels measuring 4 feet by 16 feet in size. The panels were then mounted for the exhibition in the Emily Davis Gallery.
Kennedy has lectured and/or been a visiting artist at such institutions as Dartmouth College, Mills College, Texas Tech and Auburn ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû. He has had many solo exhibitions around the United States as well as in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Argentina. His printed matter is collected by the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of California Santa Barbara, Northwestern ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû, Emory ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû, the State Archives of Alabama, the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Newberry Library, the Chicago Public Library and Yale ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû.
