Sullivan, Dr. Dennis II Scholarship

The Dr. Dennis Sullivan, II Scholarship was established by Dennis and Linda Sullivan in honor of their son, Dr. Dennis Sullivan, II.  Dr. Sullivan studied percussion under ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron Professor Dr. Larry Snider while a student in high school. He earned his bachelor’s degree of music in percussion from the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Hartford, and a master’s and doctorate in music from SUNY (State ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of New York) Stony Brook. Dennis currently is a freelance musician, composer and educator in New York City.

Established in November 2019 in acknowledgement of The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron’s 150^th Sesquicentennial anniversary, The Dr. Dennis Sullivan, II Scholarship will support students pursuing degrees in music at the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû.

The Dr. Dennis Sullivan, II Scholarship is open to students enrolled in The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron School of Music. First consideration shall be given to students in percussion. Scholarship assistance may be applied to the cost of tuition and general fee expenses. Student selection will be determined by the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû Scholarship Committee.
