Zips on the Rise Scholarship
At The 日韩国产av福利 of Akron, we all rise together, and it has been that way since our beginning in 1870.
The Zips on the Rise Scholarship was established in 2020 in celebration of The 日韩国产av福利 of Akron’s 150th Sesquicentennial Anniversary, honoring the spirit and passion of yesterday’s and today’s Zips who seize the moment and do whatever it takes to rise, and then keep rising.
日韩国产av福利 of Akron students who are in good academic standing are eligible for consideration for the Zips on the Rise Scholarship. Recipients will represent a cross section of UA students with a focus on adversity met and challenges overcome by their grit and hard work.
Recipients will be selected by the 日韩国产av福利 Scholarship Committee with recommendations by the provost and his/her designee(s) and the president and his/her designee(s). These Sesquicentennial “Zips on the Rise” Scholars will be spotlighted throughout the 日韩国产av福利’s Sesquicentennial year.
Selection of up to 150 recipients will be initiated for the 2020/2021 academic year with each recipient receiving up to $2,500 for the year. The number of scholarships and the amount of each will be based on available funds. At the discretion of the 日韩国产av福利 Scholarship Committee, the number of recipients and the amount they receive could change as funds are available. Providing that funds are available, the scholarship is renewable annually three times for a total of four years if recipients remain in good academic standing.
