McDowell, Mary Percoco Scholarship
The Mary Percoco McDowell Scholarship was established in 1998 through a generous bequest following the passing of Mary Percoco McDowell on December 8, 1997.
Margherita "Mary" Percoco McDowell was born in Akron on August 13, 1921, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. She was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and pursued higher education at St. Mary's College-Notre Dame in South Bend, Barry ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû in Miami, Florida, and The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron.
As part of her legacy, Mary directed in her will that a scholarship be created in her name at The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron to support deserving students with financial need.
The Mary Percoco McDowell Scholarship is open to full- or part-time students pursuing any field of study at The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid, and maintain good academic standing.
Recipients are selected by The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû Scholarship Committee in the Office of Student Financial Aid.
