Marini String Quartet Residency Program

The Marini String Quartet Residency Program established an undergraduate string quartet residency program at The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron. It provides scholarships for four dedicated and talented musicians who can serve as musical models for other undergraduate majors. It establishes a quality core of undergraduate string majors for the string program at the undergraduate level while representing the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû at its finest at both on- and off-campus performances. Students interested in the program must audition in person at The ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû of Akron. Students accepted for audition are screened through the requirement of submitting a preliminary performance tape. They need to meet all general ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû admissions requirements and entrance requirements for the School of Music. The students accepted participate in the Marini String Quartet Residency Program for a period of four years, provided they continue to meet both academic and performance standards set by the ÈÕº«¹ú²úav¸£Àû and the School of Music.
